At Cross Roads
The newest edition to my Tangled Line Art galleries is ‘Crossroads’. I’ve confused myself with this design – Should I put in in the Acrylic Pour gallery or the Zentangle gallery. It’s a combination of both. I think for now, I will add it to the Acrylic Pour gallery 🙂 It started off as an acrylic pour and then I asked myself the ‘what if’ question. The base of this design is a heavy duty Canson drawing paper adhered to 3mm MDF. As I was contemplating colurs etc. for the ‘pour’, I tought ‘what if I add painter’s masking tap in random strips’ before I do the pour? Will that work as a ‘mask’ or will the paint seep under the tape? How wide should the tape I use be? You get the general idea, multiple questions started swimming around in my head.
Bottom line, the only way to find out for sure was to give it a go. I am really happy to say that I love the results. It’s interesting that both Acrylic Pouring and Zentangle are both ‘random and abstract’ and essentially, I work it out as I go along. Despie this, the overall structure of ‘At Cross Roads’ looks, well, organised 🙂 I liked the results so much I have another one in the pipeline, same concept, different colouring. I will have a pidgeon pair:)
Then, off course, I started thinking again…. why do I have to limit the masked off areas to essentially, wide straight lines? Realistically, I could mask off any shape area I want to leave to draw in, couldn’t I? Hmmm, I just need to work out how to do that and that will open up all sorts of opportunites for exploration.

Off course, I had to have a jigsaw created as well – just 500 Pieces so not too large. The finished size of this jigsaw would be 18″ x 24″ (45cm x 60cm). All custom jigsaws are available from my Custom Jigsaw Shop
