‘Fan Fare’ Completed
‘Fan Fare’ is now complete 🙂 Yeah, major happy dance… It’s a shame I have two left feet, but you get the general idea 🙂
It took much longer to complete than I anticipated, however, it is now complete.
I think I recall in an earlier post about this piece that I said I would post the finished piece irrespective of whether I was happy with it or not.
Am I happy with this completed piece? Yes, I’m reasonably happy with it – Am I ecstatic with the finished result? No, not really… Prior to writing this post, I was trying to put my finger on what exactly I wasn’t happy with, within the piece. I am happy with the ‘Emotional Input’ and I am happy with the ‘Accuracy’ of the piece. If you have tried a Tangled Line Art Piece yourself, you would be well aware that accuracy is ‘key’:)
What do I think is missing in this piece?
The two things that I keep coming back to is -:
- The pattern is too ‘predictable’ and
- The ‘weight’ of the colours is too close. I feel that it needs more contrast between the colours I chose. I did realise this earlier on in the colouring stage, but not before it was too late to change the colours (without having to start again:). As I continued the colouring stage, I was thinking about what I could do to try to improve the balance. I was hoping that adding the black diagonal stripes would add enough ‘weight’ to give the overall piece a bit of a ‘lift’. Whilst I think it has helped, it still doesn’t have the impact I was hoping for. Overall though, I am still happy with it and happy that I persevered.
Final Thoughts
I truly feel that we are all ‘creative’ is some way. I also feel that the creative ‘process’ is as important as the final outcome. For me, getting ‘lost in the process’ holds as much value and learning experience as the final outcome.
Sure, the final outcome is important to me, but the ‘peace’ I feel within myself whilst creating, has true value and meaning.
