Strike 3

Strike 3

Strike 3 is the 3rd of 12 pieces in my Clock Face Series

As I move towards the completion of  a ‘Tangled Line Art’ piece, I look forward to the part where I stand back and look at it from a distance. I always see something in the interplay of the various shapes and colours that I wasn’t expecting. Strike 3 was not exception:)

When I stepped back from this piece, the first thing I saw was the ‘egg’ shapes radiating from the centre. It is also the first shape that I see when I view it online. Interestingly, I didn’t see this at all as I was working the piece.

In Strike 2  I went into “very specific detailed instructions of the complex process” 🙂 I undertake to get from a blank piece of paper to a finished Clock Face ‘Tangled Line Art’ piece.

The only noticeable difference between the process for Strike 2 and Strike 3 was the distance between the circles. In Strike 2, the circles were equidistant apart. In Strike 3, I deliberately varied the distance between the circles.

Refer back to Strike 2 to see the original divisions for this piece and the image on the left for the approximate divisions for Strike 3. The completed ‘Strike 3’ is shown on the right.

Do you see anything specific within the interplay on shapes and colours in this piece?
Let me know what you see via the contact form below.  I would love to hear from you:)
