Pathways
‘Pathways’ – I see the ‘Sashings‘ component of this design like the ‘Pathways of our lives’ – sometimes ‘hidden’ and sometimes ‘hidden in plain sight’. The pathways of our lives are not always easy to see, but once we see them, they seem so obvious.
When I began the ‘Sashings’ series, I had not given any real thought as to how many pieces I would create in this series. I have decided that 12 seems like a good number :). For me, 12 in a series represents a good balance between enough to call it a series. enough to create a challenge for me and not too many that I get bored with the same design concept. So, 12 it is for this series:)
Following my usual plan of attack to create these designs, I began with the basic outline as shown at the left. From there, I completed adding parabolic curves to one of the block components and then continued along the lines of ‘what if’ I tried adding ‘XXX’. For the most part, as it is all based on geometry, I do have a rough idea of what will work and what won’t work.
If I don’t know if a concept will work, I will simply try drawing the idea lightly in pencil first. The other alternative is to try out new ideas in a sketch book before adding it to the design. Finally, I added the ‘Flowers’ within the ‘Sashings’. The flowers are a simple spirograph pattern with some hand drawn details added.
I love the set of 4 Copic Multiliners – the .3 size. I hate to admit it, but I have bought several sets over the last few years. They just work :). To ease my conscience, I decided to use just these 4 markers in this design along with black – a Copic .3 Multiliner of course! I don’t have any affiliation with Copic, I just like their markers:)

Some of my Tangled Line Art designs are not in the correct proportions to be able to make them available for purchase as a jigsaw. ‘Pathways’, as a 1000 piece jigsaw is a decent challenge – there are lots of lines, I thought I would just mention that:). It’s a challenge but certainly achievable.
