Domino
‘Domino’ is the most recent Tangled Line Art Piece I have completed.
In prior posts, I have mentioned that many of my Tangled Line Art designs are based on quilt blocks. This piece ‘Domino’ is no exception. I completed a quilt many moons ago where ‘Domino’ was one of many blocks within that quilt. Out of interest, I did a search for ‘domino quilt block’ and, not surprisingly, the search revealed many, quite different, quilt blocks called ‘Domino’:)
The ‘Domino’ block I have based my Tangled Line Art design’ on is shown as a very basic outline on the left.
‘Curve’ Density – No, I am not talking about my ‘pear’ shape figure !
If you look closely at this design, you will notice that the lines within the sections in ‘Fuchsia’ i.e. the ‘eyes’, are much closer together than in the remainder of the piece.
For the most part, lines are drawn at 1/4″ intervals. In this design, the lines within the ‘Fuchsia’ sections are drawn at 1/8″ intervals. Lines in the remainder of the piece are drawn at 1/4″ intervals. In the sample parabolic curves shown, both samples are 4″ x 4″. In Sample “A”, lines are drawn at 1/4″ intervals, In sample “B”, lines are drawn at 1/8″ intervals.
The actual finished size and shape of each curve is identical, however, the completed curve is Sample “B” is clearly more dense.
I love the contrast in texture that combining sections drawn at 1/8″ intervals and 1/4″ intervals in the one piece:) Just be aware that if you are drawing lines at 1/8″ intervals, it is much easier to get confused and draw join the markings incorrectly.
‘Domino’ is available in a wide range of customizable products here at ‘Pixels‘, and ‘Red Bubble‘.
Off course, there is also a 1000 piece jigsaw available here at CreateJigsawPuzzles.
Please enjoy 🙂
