Strike 9

Strike 9 and counting 🙂

I am really happy with the progress on this series and the pieces to date. I hope you are enjoying this series.

When I begin each new Tangled Line Art piece, I don’t have any idea what the end design will be. I know that it will be either rectangular or maybe square, or, in the case of the Clock Face series, circular. Generally, I will only use 3-4 colours max. which I also work out as I go along.

At times, I will be working on a piece and think something along the line of ‘this isn’t working’. I believe this comes from being too close to the piece, both physically and at least for me, to a lesser degree emotionally.

I work on an angled drawing board so the piece I am working on at any given time is always in view as I walk past the drawing board. By taking a break and coming back to it, I quite often find that I ‘see different ideas’ from a distance that I didn’t see close up.

Quite often, when I upload a new piece, I will also see something different in the completed design that I didn’t see initially. I think of it as looking at the piece through a microscope – back to front:)

This is the case with Strike 9. I didn’t see the 6 petal flower hidden in plain sight in the centre of the piece until I uploaded the image to my website.

Please enjoy.
